My very first blog.

This has been an incredible week for me.  I joined the class a bit late and the catch up process has been a little overwhelming.  In fact, it looks like folks who started the class on time are also overwhelmed so you can imagine where I’m at.  Nevertheless, I am committed to charging through and getting myself back on par with everyone else.

I have already learned about some really interesting techniques and can immediately see how the technology utilized in this course would be an asset in teaching my own course.  I am currently fascinated with Voicethread and all its possibilities for teaching Global History.  I’m sure once I get caught up I’ll be able to enjoy learning about all these technologies even more!

    Bill,
Hi! I am also very fascinated with VoiceThread. It is a great tool that can be added into online courses. I have enjoyed seeing and hearing my classmates. It is nice to be able to put a face to a name. Hopefully you have been able to catch up. Trying to learn Moodle and get acclimated to the course content in the first week was a bit overwhelming. As the weeks go on, it is getting easier and easier. Good luck and I look forward to working with you this semester.

FYI you don’t have to peer evaluate in the blog, just self- assess with the blog rubric

    Hi BIll!

Excellent first reflection. I know you started a little late and missed the first blog assignment. I am curious what you think about the demographic information presented in that assignment and in your viewing of the “did you know?” video?

Use the assignment questions to help guide your reflection posts. Shoot for doing one post at the end of each week. Be sure to dig into what you are learning, thinking, feeling, experiences. I don’t just want your opinion, i want you to dig further into the concepts to make your thinking visible to us. Look for resources that support or refute… dig, think, link, reflect, dig some more! reflect…

and don’t forget to self assess based on the blog grading rubric… it is slightly different than the discussion rubric.
